Creating & Making Music:
The workshops are a great way for students to get involved in creating and making music. No prior experience is necessary, only a willingness to take part and hit the drums.
Safe & Relaxed:
The workshops are held in a safe and relaxed environment. It helps to increase confidence and self-esteem amongst students and gives them a sense of belonging to a team and encourages community spirit. Rod Pilois -(Facilitator)
African/Latin:
African/Latin and other world rhythms are taught in the workshops. Hand drums, Stick drums, bells and shakers are
also used in the ensemble pieces.
Compositions:
Original compositions such as, ‘ Latin March’, Funk/Hip-Hop ‘ Hot Donuts’ and the Japanese influenced ‘Rhythm of The Mountain’ have also been performed by ensembles at various venues.
